Summary
A job that processes molded carbon materials in a high-temperature firing furnace to manufacture carbon products (such as electrode materials).
Description
Carbon firing workers take green carbon blocks obtained by molding raw materials and fire them at high temperatures in electric or gas furnaces to produce graphite electrodes and carbon products. They perform furnace loading and unloading operations, set and monitor temperature profiles, inspect and maintain equipment, and conduct work in accordance with safety standards. They maintain product quality through fine adjustments to firing conditions and inspection of defective products, and proceed with operations while coordinating with the overall production plan of the factory. There is a lot of work in high-temperature environments and handling heavy objects, requiring forklift and crane operation skills as well as heavy machinery driving skills.
Future Outlook
While operations are changing due to advances in automation and labor-saving measures, stable demand is expected in production sites for special materials.
