Description
Boiler vessel manufacturing equipment operators read fabrication drawings and sheet metal development drawings, bend and shape metal sheets using press brakes and roll machines, and join parts with arc welding or gas welding to manufacture boilers and pressure vessels. After processing, they inspect dimensions and weld areas using calipers and projectors to ensure quality. They are also responsible for machine setup, die changes, equipment inspection and maintenance, and proceed with work in compliance with safety regulations. Since they handle numerous large components, crane operation and slinging work are also required.

While labor-saving and automation progress, demand will continue due to shortage of skilled technicians. High-precision processing technicians are expected to remain in demand.
