こうくうけいきかいはつぎじゅつしゃ(せっけいをのぞく)
Industry & Occupation
Classification
- Major : Research and Technical Occupations
- Middle : Development Engineers
- Minor : Mechanical Development Engineers
Summary
Technical role that performs testing, evaluation, and analysis of aircraft-mounted instruments and avionics equipment, supporting the transition to mass production. Excluding design tasks, responsible for technical verification from prototype to certification acquisition.
Description
Aviation Instrument Development Engineer (Excluding Design) creates prototypes of instruments and avionics equipment mounted on aircraft, performs environmental tests (vibration tests, temperature and pressure tests, withstand voltage tests, etc.), evaluates and analyzes electronic circuits, and supports mass production transition and aircraft certification acquisition (DO-160, FAR, etc.). Acquires data using test equipment and measuring instruments, conducts firmware testing and debugging, identifies defect causes, and proposes improvement measures. Collaborates with design, quality assurance, and manufacturing departments to ensure safety and reliability while participating in development schedule management.
Future Outlook
Demand for avionics development for drones and next-generation aircraft is increasing, and the need for specialized engineers is expected to grow further with the integration of electrification and automation technologies. Along with the strengthening of aviation safety regulations, the importance of testing and evaluation technologies is also increasing.
