Aircraft electrical equipment design engineers handle everything from circuit design, printed circuit board design, mechanical structure design, EMC countermeasures, planning and implementation of environmental resistance tests, to mass production transition for electronic equipment such as instruments, communication systems, sensors, and displays installed in aircraft. They organize design requirements, create specifications, perform model creation and simulation using CAD/CAE, evaluate and improve prototypes, and ensure compliance with aviation standards like FAA and EASA, as well as quality management systems. They also engage in project management, coordination with other departments and suppliers, and fault analysis and root cause investigation.
