Industry & Occupation

Engineering & Manufacturing

Classification

Summary

Manufacturing technician responsible for the entire process from synthesis to separation and purification of acetaldehyde using nickel-palladium catalysts or oxidation reactions.

Description

Acetaldehyde manufacturing workers produce acetaldehyde through processes such as dehydrogenation of ethanol or oxidation of ethylene. They control and monitor temperature, pressure, and flow rates inside reaction towers, maintain catalyst activity, and perform maintenance inspections on equipment. They sample products and conduct quality inspections (such as gas chromatography analysis) to ship products that meet standards. They thoroughly manage safety and health, comply with laws and regulations, and respond to emergency shutdown procedures.

Future Outlook

With the decarbonization of the chemical industry and strengthening of environmental regulations, the need for developing new manufacturing processes using energy-saving methods and bio-raw materials is increasing. By acquiring advanced process control technology and quality management skills, demand for highly specialized personnel is expected to increase.
